Why we do it

““I hope there will be a ruckus… I want you to make yourselves heard in your dioceses, I want the ruckus to go out, I want the Church to go out onto the streets, I want us to resist everything worldly, everything static, everything comfortable… everything that might make us closed in on ourselves.”” — -Pope Francis, World Youth Day 2013, Rio de Janeiro

This call to Evangelize is what we at The Holy Ruckus stand for. Through our blogs, videos, podcasts, memes, and products we hope you find something that inspires you to live your faith loud. We hope to seek out the seekers, the wanderers who are making moves to dive into their faith or leave it. The Holy Ruckus is a community of messy believers not polished saints. A holy irreverence is what the Church needs to reach out to the margins and to shake out the stiffness. May the fruit of our work inspire you to challenge yourself, bolster your faith, and keep you grounded to Christ in your streets.  The Holy Ruckus is what the Church needs, a movement that makes a ruckus in your Church, in your diocese, and in the world!

Meet the team

Josh Moldiz

I'm a Catholic husband and father in love with Jesus.I was raised by my Abuelita (Grandmother) for my whole childhood and it shows. It was her witness that helped cement the love that God had for me as a kid. Blessings keep coming as I'm married to my wife Emily and have 5 kids (Gianna, Lily, Maria Faustina, Joseph, and Judah). So many stories! I've been blessed with the opportunity to share the faith with youth and young adults in the DC/MD/VA area for the last 10 years at retreats, events, etc. I received my bachelors in Catechesis and Theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville and have been working in catechesis and evangelization ever since (teacher, worship leader, youth minister).Speaking on evangelization, conversion and pop culture is what drove me to start this website.

“ Josh is an engaging speaker to the Youth and a great evangelizer”. Most Rev. Bishop Mark E. Brennan Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston WV

“Best in the business and doing phenomenal work for the Church”. Kevin Wells Author of “The Priests we need to Save the Church” and National Catholic Speake

Emily Moldiz

Emily is The Holy Ruckus' resident Mom-In-Chief/ Moral Compass. She is the muscle behind the scenes, editing/producing the  Podcast and the Videos, as well as actively trying to keep Josh and the team out of trouble. Happily married to Josh (in what’s best described as a lapse of judgement), she is a loving wife and exhausted mother of three young girls and two boys. A graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville, she works tirelessly to balance wife-ing, mothering, work, and passionate evangelization. Of all of The Holy Ruckus' collaborators, she is by far the most likely to be one day canonized (or at the very least have people show up at her funeral).
